Remember the Magic Parade

This parade made its debut in 1996, in conjunction with Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary.  The floats would periodically stop along the parade route and guests who had been selected earlier by "parade coaches" were invited to interact with the floats.  The Remember the Magic song used in this parade was credited to Antelis/Berman/Pack and the melody of this song with different lyrics was later used as part of Disneyland's Believe...In Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular.

The first unit was a castle float that was escorted by royal dancers.  Cinderella and the Prince rode at the front and characters such as Sorcerer Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale rode on different sections of the float while the Fairy Godmother followed behind.  When the parade was not in show mode, the characters would occasionally make comments while the float traveled, saying how fun things were or exclaiming about 25 years.

The Little Mermaid float was next, escorted by festive fish holding maracas in their fins.  The main float featured Ariel, a revolving fish conga line with Flounder and an Audio-Animatronic sea band, including a Sebastian figure that had supposedly been designed for the aborted Little Mermaid ride that was to have been built in Disneyland Paris.  Chefs pushing serving carts announced the arrival of the Beauty and the Beast float.  The main float had spinning dishes and an Audio-Animatronic Lumiere that would occasionally talk when not in show mode.  A stairway at the back of the float led to Belle and the Beast dancing.

Dancing guards and a rolling treasure car (that Genie would pop out of during the show mode) proceeded and followed the Aladdin float.  On the main float, a giant inflatable Genie figure towered over Aladdin and Jasmine while Jafar and the Magic Carpet walked along side.  A similar version of the Genie balloon, sword solider costumes and harem camel figures that followed the main float were originally used in the Aladdin's Royal Caravan Parade at the Disney/MGM Studios.

Jungle animals preceeded the Lion King float.  An Audio-Animatronic Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, and Timon were on the main unit.  A costumed Rafiki rode on the back end and costumed African stilt walkers followed.  This float was later used to promote the release of the Lion King movie on DVD in 2003 at Animal Kingdom.  The ending float was a garden (complete with a water fountain) with classic characters such as Snow White, The Seven Dwarves, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Alice, The White Rabbit, King Louie, Baloo, Mary Poppins, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Pinocchio and Geppetto.

Remember the Magic Parade Lyrics and Selected Show Modes

Announcer: Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, today we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  In honor of our past guests, and in grateful appreciation to those of you who have revisited the Magic Kingdom so many times, we proudly dedicate this, our 25th Anniversary Parade, to you.  Today, for the first time in our history, nearly 1000 of our park guests will join the Disney cast and perform with them, in a Magical Moment from a Walt Disney classic.  Now come with us, ladies and gentleman, and Remember the Magic.  Come meet the girl whose foot fits the glass slipper, the genie who makes wishes come true, the little lion cub who grows up to be king.  Come celebrate again, all the wonder and joy, the laughter and delight, that is so much a part of our tradition, here in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Come with us!

Child Soloist:  When you wish upon a star.

Announcer:  Come and Remember the Magic!

Chorus: Remember the Magic, Remember the Magic.  It's time to Remember the Magic.
Your heart will just take wing,
you can live out all your dreams.
No matter how, no matter when,
you can reach that world again.
It's like a dream come true,
that lives inside of you.
It's time to Remember the Magic!
It's time to Remember the Magic!

Remember the Magic!  Remember the Magic!
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-A-Dee-Ay, (a new celebration!).
My oh my what a wonderful day.
Twenty-Five years of Disney Magic!
Plenty of sunshine, (the joy and the laughter), heading my way, (having fun ever after).
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-A-Dee-Ay.
Remember the Magic!  Remember the Magic!

So join our celebration, and wish upon a star.
And start to Remember the Magic.
It's time to Remember the Magic!
There's always a dream coming true,
Remember the Magic!

Dale:  I don't know how.

Chip:  Well, I'll teach you.  Follow us everyone!

Chorus:  Sala-gadoola-mechicka-boo-la.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
Put 'em together and what have you got?
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.

Goofy: Change direction!

Chorus: Sala-gadoola means,
mechicka-boo-la-roo.
But the thing-a-ma-bob that does the job,
is bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
Sala-gadoola-menchicka-boo-la.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
Put 'em together and what have you got,
bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi,
bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!

Mickey: Here comes the best part!

Chorus: Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!

Sebastian: There's a party goin' on and guess where it is!

Chorus: Under the sea!

Sebastian: That's right mon, come with me!  Where is it?

Chorus: Under the sea!

Sebastian:  Ok everybody, follow me, and let's conga!
(Sings) The seaweed is always greener,
in somebody else's lake.
You dream about going up there,
but that is a big mistake.
Just look at the world around you,
right here on the ocean floor.
Such wonderful things surround you,
what more is you lookin' for?

Chorus:  Under the sea.

Sebastian: That's it, mon.
(Sings) Under the sea.
Darling it's better,
down where it's wetter.
Take it from me.
Up on the shore they work all day.
Out in the sun they slave away.
While we devotin',
full time to floatin',
Under the sea.

(Speaks) Come on everybody, conga!  That's it.  Kick up some sun!  Lift those fins.  I ask you Ariel, is this a party or what?  You look a little hot under the gills.  One more time.

(Sings) Under the sea.
Under the sea.
When the sardine,
begin the beguine.
It's music to me.
What do they got? A lot of sand.
We got a hot crustacean band.
Each little clam here,
know how to jam here.
Under the sea.
Each little slug here,
cuttin' a rug here.
Under the sea.
Each little snail here,
know how to wail here.
That's why it's hotter,
under the water.
Ya we in luck here,
down in the muck here.
Under the sea.

Aladdin Float Remember the Magic Parade

Genie:  Alright, you lamp lovers!  Go find yourself a lamp!  Genie says, what are you waiting for?

Chorus:  Rub that lamp!  Make it glow!  Faster now!  Go man, go!  Rub that lamp!  Make it shine!  Genie says, it's magic time!

Genie (Laughs):  Ow!   Just in time for the wonder game of the century-Genie Says!  Genie says, hop on one foot.  Do it!
(Sings) Gotta keep,
One jump, ahead of the game now.
One hop, ya gotta stay put.
Let's play, Genie says the other foot.
C'mon, do it!  Get up!
One jump, ahead of the slowpokes.
One hop, ahead of the beat.
Let's play, Genie says use both feet.  Feel the burn!

Genie: One jump, higher and higher!  Ok, what'll it be?  Let's play, ya never had a friend like me.  Ok now, Genie says: kick your feet and flap your arms like a chicken.  Kick and  flap.  Flap and kick.

Chorus: Mr. Aladdin sir, what will your pleasure be?  (With Genie.) Let me take your order, jot it down, you ain't never had a friend like me.

Genie:  Aw, this isn't the way we rehearsed it!    (Sings.) I'm in the mood, to help you dude.  You ain't never had friend, never had a friend, you ain't never had a friend, never had a friend.  You ain't never. Had a. Friend like me.  Genie says one foot.  Gotcha.  You ain't never had a friend like me.  Enough already!

Chorus: Our thanks to you,
for sharing in this moment.
Join with us as we sing our favorite song.
Sing with us now!
When you wish upon a star,
makes no difference who you are.
When you wish upon a star,
your dreams (Remember the Magic) come (The magic your dreams will) come true.

Remember the Magic Lion King

The other show modes included Be Our Guest being performed near the Beauty and the Beast float, Pumbaa and Timon encouraging everyone to pound on drums to the beat of Hakuna Matata and marching to Heigh-Ho on the garden float.  The ending float also had a castle that would raise during the show mode to allow some explosives to go off during the finale.

Disney's Magical Moments Parade

After the 25th Anniversary was over, the parade was renamed Disney's Magical Moments Parade.  A few changes were made at this time.  The opening introduction was changed slightly, as well as the sign on the first float. The words during the song's Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah refrain were changed from "25 Years of Disney Magic" to "Remember the Disney Magic."  Some of the characters were changed in the garden float.  The Mad Hatter replaced the White Rabbit and Smee replaced Pinocchio.  The new design of the Winnie the Pooh costume was also used.  This parade ran until 2001, when it was replaced by the Share a Dream Come True Parade.
